Wang Lei, who has taught at the Institute of Plastic Arts of the China Central Academy of Fine Arts and the Renmin University of China School of Arts, combines the most cutting-edge contemporary painting techniques with the mysterious and time-honored traditional Chinese painting artistry. By exploring the differences and connections between similar images and symbols in Eastern and Western myths, he reveals the cultural genetic
codes hidden in art. For example, Qi lin (Unicorn in Western myths) and Yu Ren (Angels in Western myths) are both representative elements of his works.
Wang Lei is the first artist in the world to travel across Eurasia and the entire Silk Road to create works on site. From 2015 to 2025, with a broad vision and a persistent spirit of exploration, he spent ten years traveling across Eurasia to implement his "Walking Painting" series creation projects. During this period, he created a large number of works on site and enriched his artistic creation in a new form: depicting the faces and relics on the Silk Road, as well as the atmosphere and impressions surrounding them, and further enriching and deepening the creation of myths themes - this is the essence and reality of the Silk Road. In order to explore and carry forward the cultural origins and artistic spirit of Europe and China, it means returning to the origins of geography, local traditional customs and humanistic culture.
Wang Lei not only pays attention to the communication with ancient traditional culture, but also pays more attention to the connection with contemporary reality. In his paintings, he shows the close and profound connection between different cultures and different times.

“Walking Painting” series creation projects, is artist Wang Lei‘s travel creation plan through the Eurasian continent along the Silk Road. The projects started in 2015 and ended in 2025, It took ten years and covered nearly 30,000 kilometers, passing through more than a dozen countries including China, Uzbekistan, Iran, Turkey, Greece, Italy, France, Spain, Portugal, etc., and created a total of more than 600 works. this plan includes a series of creative activities 、cultural and artistic exchange and exhibitions,etc.

現生活和工作於北京、雅典和巴黎。

王雷曾任教於中國中央美術學院造型藝術研究所和中國人民大學藝術學院，他將最前沿的當代繪畫技巧與神秘而悠久的中國傳統繪畫技藝相結合，透過探索東西方神話中的相似形象與符號的差異與連系，揭示隱藏於藝術中的文化基因密碼。例如，麒麟（即獨角獸）和羽人（即天使），都是他作品的代表元素。
王雷是世界上第一位橫跨歐亞大陸、穿越絲路全程進行現場創作的藝術家。從2015年至2025年，他以開闊的視野和執著的探索精神，用十年時間穿梭於歐亞大陸，執行他的“行走繪畫”系列創作計劃，期間在現場創作了大量作品，並以一種新的形式豐富了他的藝術創作：描繪絲綢之路上人們的面孔和遺跡，以及環繞其周圍的氛圍和印象，並進一步豐富和深化了神話主題的創作——這就是絲綢之路的本質和現實。為了探索和發揚歐洲及中國的文化本源與藝術精神，意味著要回到地理、當地傳統習俗和人文文化的起源。
王雷不僅注重與古老傳統文化的交流，更注重與當代現實的連結。在他的繪畫中，展示了不同文化和不同時代之間的緊密而深刻的連結。

活動
2015年至2025年
“行走繪畫”系列創作計劃是藝術家王雷，沿著絲路穿越歐亞大陸的旅行創作計劃。從2015年開始，2025年結束，歷時十年，行程近三萬公里，途經中國、烏茲別克、伊朗、土耳其、希臘、義大利、法國、西班牙、葡萄牙等十幾個國家，創作作品總計六百餘幅。此計劃包括一系列創作活動、文化藝術交流和展覽等。
